What counts as a minute
Minutes count the audio of each dictation, to the millisecond. A take with no speech in it is never sent to a speech engine and uses no minutes. Neither does a take that fails.3

The length of each dictation’s audio, to the millisecond. No rounding.
Counts
Everything while you hold the key, pauses included.
Doesn’t count
Time between dictations, a take with no speech, a take that fails, and the time spent polishing.
At the limit
- At 80 % of your minutes, the app tells you how much is left.
- Free and paid Pro can finish a sentence with up to 60 seconds of grace. The trial stays within its 60-minute total.
- Free resets next Monday and paid Pro at the next billing period. Trial minutes never reset; after using them, upgrade or wait for the trial to end.
- Tersa Cloud is for live dictation. Saved offline takes retry with your current plan’s modes, minutes and take-length limit. The app keeps the recording if the current limit prevents a retry.
Paying, renewing, cancelling
Stripe handles paid subscriptions. Prices are in US dollars, and taxes are calculated at checkout.
A paid Pro subscription renews monthly or yearly until you cancel. The no-card trial never starts a subscription or an automatic charge.
Refunds follow the refund policy.

How much is 15 minutes a week?
About 2,000 words, spoken at an ordinary pace.
Do I need Pro for Clean and Polished?
Yes. Free includes As spoken. Paid Pro and the active Pro trial include As spoken, Clean and Polished.
What if my connection drops?
The app keeps the recording in History and retries with your current plan when you’re back online. Pending audio follows your History settings and its existing seven-day retention limit.
How does the trial work?
Sign in, open Account and plan and activate it once. It lasts 7 consecutive days by server time, with 60 total minutes. Paid and active Beta accounts cannot start a concurrent trial. Unused trials remain available after Beta ends.
How do I cancel paid Pro?
From the billing portal in the app’s Account and plan screen. Paid Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. The trial needs no cancellation.
